Density of Solids Activity

Today we brainstormed ideas for science fair proposals.  Afterwards we finished up our density notes (and coke demo for those periods who did not see it).  The rest of the period was spent working on the Density of Solids activity. Most groups should have had time to finish at least 2 blocks. We will continue this activity on Monday.

  • BRING A CALCULATOR! – Since we are solving for density and doing more advanced math (algebra) for this unit, you NEED to have a calculator in class every day.  It’s hard to divide 8.45 g by 1.027 mL in your head! A student told me that there are 99 cent calculators available at Walmart.
